Marcella Pendergrass is a long-time racial and gender justice activist who grew up in Michigan and has been living in Seattle for many years.  She is an amazing fire-woman with a profound sense of justice and community.  She was nurtured in her activism by parents and grandparents who were labor-organizers, community-builders and church folk.  Race men and race women, as they used to say.  She is also a friend and supporter of the Veterans of Hope Project and we are happy and proud to share some of her story.
