Dr. Davíd Carrasco (b. 1944 ) is an historian of religions specializing in the study of the archeo-mythology of Mesoamerican cities and the Mexican-American borderlands. His work has included a special emphasis on the religious dimensions of Latino experience: mestizaje, the myth of Aztlan, transculturation, and La Virgen de Guadalupe. He has taught at the University of Colorado, Princeton and Harvard (his current base) universities. Dr. Carrasco received the Mexican Order of the Aztec Eagle, the highest honor the Mexican government gives to a foreign national. Dr. Carrasco’s interview was conducted by several Ambassadors of Hope youth.
