Ms. Fay Bellamy Powell (1938 – 2013) was a Freedom Movement organizer in Green County, Alabama; Selma, Alabama; and in Atlanta, Georgia from 1965 to 1968. She was a staff member of the Institute of the Black World and a founding organizer of the National Anti-Klan Network. She was also co-founder of the We Shall Overcome fund, a granting agency supporting the use of Freedom and Labor Movement arts and music traditions in local organizing. An accomplished photographer, Ms. Bellamy Powell was active in local public access media in Atlanta, Georgia where she lived for more than four decades.
