Ms. Linda Tillery (b. 1948) is an ethnomusicologist and socially-conscious performer from the San Francisco area. Ms. Tillery has collaborated with a number of musicians and groups including Bobby McFerrin, Holly Near, Kenny Loggins and The Spirituals Project of the University of Denver. She is a member of the Cultural Heritage Choir, a women’s a cappella group. The choir performs spirituals, work and play songs, and other folk music developed during slavery. Tillery often supplements her performances with lectures on the history and significance of the music she presents.
