We are happy and proud to announce that civic leader, educator and community activist, Dr. Rachel Bassett Noel is being inducted into the Colorado Women’s Hall of Fame!

On Thursday, January  13 at 7:30pm mountain time, Rocky Mountain PBS will broadcast a half-hour video on the life and impact of Dr. Noel.  The first African American member of the Denver School Board, Dr. Noel and was central to the struggle in Colorado to insure quality education for Black and Brown students.   Noel was the founding chair of the Department of Afro-American Studies at Metropolitan State College and was widely admired for her unflinching advocacy on behalf of a just multiracial democracy in this country.  The film features excerpts from the Veterans of Hope Project’s interview with Dr. Noel and the remembrances of her children Angie and Buddy,  as well as from Cleo Parker Robinson, Happy Haynes and other notable Denver political, educational and religious leaders.

The Noel family is requesting folks to watch the broadcast on Thursday evening if at all possible — it will help with ratings.

But the film is also available anytime on Vimeo here
